C. shall and Sandra Swink will be presented at the sub-debutante ball sponsored, Charity by the League Shelby, N. Saturday night, June 4. Miss Day, daughter of Mrs. Eleanor Day, of Richardson street, will be escorted by George Larry Wood and James Claude Fort; Miss Godshall, daughter of Mr.

and Mrs. A. Ray Godshall, of South Petty street, will be escorted by William Keefer, Brumbach and her father: Miss Swink, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H.

R. Swink, of South Limestone street, will be escorted by her father and Mickey Vehorn. The sub-debs, their parents and escorts will converge on Shelby onl Friday to begin a two day whirl of social events prior to the ball itself on Saturday night. First of 'the league-sponsored parties be the registration tea for sub-debutantes and their mothers, to be held at North Lake Country Club on Friday, June 3. Tea hours will be from 11 a.

m. to p. m. and Miss Saranan Morgan will be chairman of the committee on arrangements. The tea will be followed by rehearsal of the debutante figure at the Community Center between 2 and 4:30 p.

m. That same day, between 7:30 p. m. and 11 p. m.

the league will entertain debs and their escorts at a supper dance at the Elks Lodge. Mrs. John McMurry is league chairman for the affair. On Saturday, June 4, the league will again entertain debs and their escorts, this time at a sun and fun session at Lake Montonia. There will be swimming, dancing and a snack lunch.

League hostesses for this event will be Mrs. Rush Hamrick, Mrs. Pegram Holland and Mrs. James Toole. The series of events will be elimaxed by the formal presentation ball between 8 and 12 o'clock that night.

Introduction of the debutantes and presentation of the figure will begin at 8:30 p. m. This annual affair is one of the Charity Leagues projects to make money to support its extensive program of charity work. The League spends several hundred dollars each month for day to day aid to the poor, the sick, the un employed and the discouraged, most of whom are not eligible for help from other sources. The League also offers aid to crippled children and adults in Cleveland county.

They went especially to see their daughter, Margaret Hambright, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Hambright, receive a diploma. TEA FOR BRIDE-ELECT Mrs. Charles Baber and Mrs.

Tommy LeMaster were hostesses at a seated tea at the Baber home on South Johnson street Tuesday afternoon when they entertained for Miss Elaine Clary, bride-elect of this week end. The spacious home was decorated with arrangements of pastel spring flowers. Following a period of informal conversation guests were invited into the dining room for dainty refreshments. The dining table was centered with a miniature bride and bridegroom. Mrs.

Ralph Clary, mother of the honoree, nresided at the punch bowl and Mrs. Russell Dellinger assisted the hostesses in serving and entertaining. Mrs. Baber and Mrs. LeMaster presented their honor guest with a corsage of pink carnations and a piece of crystal in her chosen pattern.

Miss Clary will become the bride of Charles Dee Coyle in a ceremony Sunday. TO FLORIDA Mrs. J. N. Lipscomb and children, Bobby and Juliette, of Richardson street, planned to leave Thursday for Miami, to spend ten days with their son and brother, Nathan Lipscomb, and Mrs.

Clark for members of Blacksburg, June Elizabeth S. Clark and Kenneth Taylor Wright, both of Blacksburg, were married in a double ring ceremony Sunday at five o'clock in the afternoon at St. John's Methodist Church. The Rev. Julian H.

Lazar, pastor of the church, officiated at the ceremony. Mrs. Wright is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Bernard Clark, of Pine street.

Mr. Wright hand son of Mrs. John H. the late Mr. Wright, of Blacksburg.

Martin, organist, played Promise "Ave Maria," and "Because." Miss Marilyn Martin, soloist, sang "I Love You Truly," and "Seal Us, 0 Holy Spirit." The church was decorated in the traditional colors of green and white with two tall, white baskets of white gladioli, mums, baby's breath and lace fern before sevenbranched candelabra holding white cathedral candles at the altar. The bride was given in marriage father. She wore a dress of imported lace over silk brocade. The princess dress featured a high neckline with a small round collar and small self-covered buttons, which were also used on the long sleeves that ended in points at the wrist. Her veil of illusion was attached to a half-bouquet of pearls o11 lace.

She carried a white satin Bible with white roses and stawansonia tied with strands of pearls. Mrs. Robert Moore, of Charlotte, N. sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Her dress of moss green organza over taffeta was designed along princess lines with small pleats" 111 the back.

She wore a net headpiece of moss green net and shoes to match. Her bouquet was cymbidium orchids and pink poms. Miss Jeanette Fowler, of Charlotte, was maid of honor. She wore a dress and carried flowers similar to those of the matron of honor. Carl Ramsey, Raleigh, N.

was the bridegroom's best man. Ushers were B. Clark, brother bride, and Johnny Wright, brother of the bridegroom. Mrs. Wright attended school in Charlotte, before coming to Blacksburg with her parents a year ago.

She was a member of the 1960 graduating class at Blacksburg High School. Mr. Wright was also a member of the graduating class at Blacksburg High School, where he was captain of the football team and also president of the student body. Immediately after the ceremony the couple left for a wedding trip to the beach. Upon their return, Mr.

and Mrs. Wright will make, their home in Charlotte. Out of town guests attending the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. H.

L. Vaughn, Larry Vaughn, of Shelby, N. and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Ramsey, of Raleigh.

A reception was given by Mr. HARRILL-NANCE Mr. and Mrs. John D. Harrill, of 203 Austin drive, have announced the marriage of their daughter, Betty Jo, to Ernest G.

Nance, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Nance, of Cherokee avenue. The wedding was performed February 21 by Probate Judge Charles Nunn at York. Mr.

Miss Lineberger, the daughter of Mr.

and Mrs. William Lineberger, is a niece of Mrs. Hamrick's. Arrangements of garden flowers decorated the home and the terrace where refreshments were served. Mrs.

Dainty pick-ups and soft drinks were served from a table centered with an arrangement of yellow and green garden flowers. Refreshments were served in small garden baskets. The hostesses' gift to the brideto-be was silver in her chosen pattern. The guest list included friends of the honoree. Miss Cathcart will become the bride of David Waters, of Baltimore, in a ceremony at the Limestone Presbyterian Church June 11.
