Smith, of 201 Holmes street, who has been a patient in the Cherokee County Memorial Hospital a little more than two weeks, was reported somewhat improved Wednesday. Goforth Reunion Miss Kathleen Goforth has announced the annual Goforth family reunion will be held Sunday, August 6, at the Sunnyside school.

Picnic dinner will be served at 12:30 p. m. White Family Reunion Hoyle White, of 412 Elm street, has announced descendants of Reuben and Alice Moss White will meet in annual reunion Sunday, August 6, at the home of George White on Blacksburg star route. Hen Lays Colored Eggs Mrs. Marshall A.

Poole, of 1281 North Limestone street, was surprised earlier this week when one of her hens produced two colored eggs that would have been suitable for Easter. The egg shells were colored mostly brownish with some lighter areas. Mrs. Poole said the hen was just a common chicken and had not been given any unusual food. High Point Revival A series of revival meetings will begin at the High Point Baptist Church Sunday morning at 11 o'clock with the Rev.

Glymph, Executor July 20, 27, Aug 3 Gibbons Chosen As President Of Indian Club Billy R. Gibbons, Radio Station WFGN announced and program director, was elected president of the Cherokee Indian Club for 1961- 1962 at the club's annual meeting Tuesday night. Mr. Gibbons, who had served as vice president during the past succeeded Basil H. Clary.

The club elected Jack Hodge vice president to succeed Mr. Gibbons. Mr. Hodge was a director for the past year. Club Treasurer Ralph C.

Clary and Secretary F. W. White were re-elected. New directors elected were Dewey Phillips, William H. (Bill) Smith and Miles' B.

Sams, Jr. Hold-over directors are Charles Harrill, Wayne Clary and C. M. Brown. Retiirng directors are C.

Jack Guthrie and J. S. Mooney. The directors set membership dues for the year which begins August 1 at $3 and $6 each. The $6 membership includes attendance at the Gaffney High School annual football banquet.

Mr. Gibbons said he would announce appointment of standing committees within the next few days and that supper meeting probably would be set for later this month. Sandridge Will Serve Balance Of Robbery Time County Probation Officer Lloyd Whelchel brought Robert Edward Sandridge, 28-year-old white man, back here Tuesday from Danville, to serve the remainder of a three term he received for armed robbery. Sandridge was sentenced in court here March of 1958 by Judge Thomas Bussey to three years suspended on service of six months and five years probation. Records received by Mr.

Whelchel's office showed he served six months in Virginia in a hit and run case and 12 months in Virginia for non-support since his release here. His probation was revoked for failure to support his family and for consorting with undesirable companions. DIAL IV 9-2571 Four Persons Receive Hurts In Heavy Rain Four persons were injured here Tuesday afternoon in two automobile accidents that occurred about the same time during heavy rain which was accompanied by sharp thunder and lightning. Mrs. Peggy Wilkirs, £7, of Dogwood Road, was the enly person hospitalized. She was admitted to Cherokee County Memorial Hospital for observation and was reported i in good condition.

Mrs. Wilkins was driver of a 1961 Chevrolet which collided with a 1959 Chevrolet driven by Miss Gloria Diane Moss, 16, of Whitmire. The accident occurred at the intersection of Buford and Limestone streets when the Moss car attempted a left turn. The Moss girl told police was on her way to obtain driver's license at the Highway Patrol office located about a block away. She was driving under a learner's permit.

Two other persons in the Moss car were treated at the local hosital and dismissed. They were listed as Mrs. Joe Moss, 52, Whitmire and Jack Poole, 53, of Gaffney. A Charlotte woman, Mrs. Maude Blaski, 56, was treated and released after her 1950 Buick ran off Highway I-85 and slid backward into a ditch.

Oliver Fowler Mrs. Mamie Fowler, 78, of North Limestone street, died about 4 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Cherokee County Memorial Hospital. She was the widow of Oliver Fowler, who died in 1935. Her parents were the late Andrew and Mary Smith. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Goucher Baptist Church, of which Mrs.

Fowler was a member. The Rev. N. G. Lemmons, the Rev.

Beatty Lee Queen, the Rev. Vernon Bishop, the Rev. G. W. Lockaby, and the Rev.

Roy Spencer officiated. Interment was in the Goucher cemetery with the Shuford-Hatcher Company, mortician, in charge. The pall bearers were Claude B. Long, Billy and John Fowler, and Jerry, John and Henry Ruppe. She is survived by three sons, Harry, of Sanford, David, of Shelby, and James Fowler, of Gaffney; three daughters, Mrs.

Lula Sosebee, and Mrs. C. B. Long, of Gaffney, and Mrs. 0.

B. Ruppe, of Shelby; one brother, Marion Smith, of Spartanburg; one sister, Mrs. Mandy Williams, of Chesnee; 19 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Robert W.

Adams Spartanburg. Mrs. Lula Haynes Adams, 87, of 17 Main street, Arkwright, died at her home Monday at 3:55 p. following an illness of one week. Mrs.

Adams was a native of Cherokee county and a member of ElBethel Methodist Church. She attended Cherokee county schools. Her parents were the late Willis and 1 Sallie Brown Haynes. Her husband was Robert W. Adams.

Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Annie Cook, of route 1, Mrs. Bessie Garner, of Jonesville route 1, Mrs. Guy Chesney, Mrs. Broadus Cox, Spartanburg, Miss Louise Adams, Mrs.

Guy Thompson, of the home; two sons, William of Spartanburg, and Gettys Adams, of 1 Kelton route two sisters, Mrs. W. W. Lancas. ter, of Spartanburg, and Mrs.

J. I. Penland, of Inman; twentytwo grandchildren, 34 greatgrandchildren and four greatgreat-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at 4 Church p. m.

at ElBethel Methodist by the Revs. L. O. Foxworth and R. E.

Terrell. Burial was in Foster Chapel Methodist Church cemetery at Kelton. Mrs. W. P.

Jenkins Cliffside. Mary well Jenkins, 82, of Cliffside, died Sunday at 6:45 p. the Rutherford County Hospital, following a five-months' illness. Mrs. Jenkins, Cherokee County, S.

native, was the daughter of the late Shuffy and Nancy the late Willie Pinckney Davis Blackwell and the wife of Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ralph Greene, of Forest City and Mrs. George Wooten, of Mooresboro, route son, Voyd Jenkins, of Cliffside: five grandchildren and eight greatI grandchildren. Mrs. Jenkins was member of the State Line Baptist Church.

The funeral was held at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Cleveland county at 2:30 p. m. Tuesday with the Rev. Marion Rector and the Rev.

M. D. Blanton conducting the rites. Burial was in the cemetery of State Line Baptist Church. Mrs.

Oscar B. Shelby, N. Belle Gold Cabinis3, 76, of York, S. route 4, died Sunday morning at 6 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John F.

Clark. She was born in Cherokee county, S. and was the daughter of the late William Milton and Margaret Palmer Gold. Her husband, Oscar B. Cabariss, died in 1956.

Surviving are three sons, Willism and Frank both of Rock Hill, S. and Hugh E. of York, S. one daughter, Mrs. John F.

Clark, of the home; one stepson, Malcolm Cabaniss, of Shelby, and two stepdaughters, Mrs. Walter Davis, of Shelby and Mrs. James Miller, of York, S. C. Other survivors are one brother Tom R.

Gold, of Shelby; one sister, Mrs. Lucy Dixon, Fallston; 21 grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren. Mrs. Cabaniss a member of the Central Baptist Church at York where the funeral was held Monday at 4 p.m., with the Revs. Barrett Seism, Coyt officiating.

Ansten and J. Graveside services and burial took place at Zion Baptist Church in Cleveland county.
